Job Description: The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is seeking an Analyst/Programmer IV in our region I office in Sitka. Under general direction, the incumbent will be the lead architect, analyst and programmer for a shared object class library and for the development of client and web components for large and complex database applications that support fisheries management and research. Major projects are programming support for Alexander (the primary fisheries management and research database system for Southeast Alaska) and the migration of the Alexander database management system to Departmental software standards. In particular, this project involves production of program code for the various fisheries management and research projects and consolidation of those processes into Alexander and the new system (Zander). The incumbent will perform all systems analysis and design, coding, deployment and testing functions.
